Fees and billing

We hope you have chosen to have a home birth because you want to take charge of your care. Although home birth is a cost effective option for maternity care and birth we never encourage families to choose home birth based on cost alone. In addition to your health and risk factors you must determine if a home birth fits your needs.

Insurance
Lakeland Midwifery Care, Inc. is not contracted with insurance companies.

What does this mean if you have insurance?
Most insurance policies have an option to choose an out of network provider. This often means you must pay more out of pocket as a higher deductible or copay. Our insurance specialists will help you by taking your information and verifying your insurance to determine what your out of pocket costs will be. We must pay for this service, so there is a fee of $25 which is then applied to your service fee once you begin care with us.

Medicaid, Sliding Scale & Payment Plans
Lakeland Midwifery Care, Inc. believes that our care should be available to everyone regardless of finances. We have always accepted Medicaid for payment and are currently in network with Integral and Better Health, and are working hard to ensure that we will still be able to accept Medicaid under the new AHCA and Florida MMA guidelines, to find out if your care would be covered, please contact us. We also work with you to set up a payment plan for services. Please talk to us about your finances so we can help make our services affordable for you.
