Fees and billing
We hope you have choosen to have a home birth because you want to take charge of your care. Although home birth is a cost effective option for maternity care and birth we never encourage families to choose home birth based on cost alone. In addition to your health and risk factors you must determine if a homebirth fits your needs.
Insurance
Lakeland Midwifery Care, Inc. is not contracted with insurance companies. What does this mean if you have insurance? Most insurance policies have an option to choose an out of network provider. This often means you must pay more out of pocket or higher deductable or co-pay.
Our insurance specialist will help you by taking your information. She will verify your insurance and determine what your out of pocket costs will be. We must pay for this service, so there is a non refundable charge of $5.
Medicaid and sliding scale
Lakeland Midwifery Care, Inc. believes that our care should be available to everyone regardless of finances. We accept medicaid for payment. Please talk to us about your finances so we can help make these services affordable for you.
