Who We Are
Midwives
Marianne Power is a Florida Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife, and Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience in nursing and midwifery combined. Her philosophy of pregnancy and birth have been shaped by her own birth experiences.Through education and midwifery care she was transformed by the birth of her three children. This path ultimately led to her midwifery career. The staff of Lakeland Midwifery Care are here to provide the space for women to discover their power through birth.
Doulas
Charlie Rae Young is a mother, doula, natural birth advocate, and student midwife. A substandard birth experience opened Charlie’s eyes to the current crisis in America’s maternity care system. Shortly after, she began her work in the birth field with the Coalition for Improving Maternity Care Services (CIMS) as a grassroots ambassador for The Birth Survey. Currently, Charlie works as a student midwife with Lakeland Midwifery Care Inc while attending Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. Charlie believes that women still have an innate ability to give birth without intervention and strives to make a positive difference in the total birth experience for new mothers.
Birth Assistants
Megan D’orazio currently teaches childbirth education classes and works as a birth assistant for Lakeland Midwifery Care, Inc. in Lakeland, FL. Megan’s kind-hearted nature and gentle disposition make her an ideal partner and asset for birthing mothers. She intends to inspire confidence in women by helping them trust their bodies while assisting in the creation of the total birth experience they are looking for. As a loving, stay-at-home mother to her beautiful daughter, Megan hopes that sharing her positive personal experiences will encourage and benefit other new mothers.
