Who We Are
Marianne Power is a Florida Licensed Midwife and Registered Nurse with over 35 years of experience in nursing and midwifery combined. Her philosophy of pregnancy and birth have been shaped by her own birth experiences. Through education and midwifery care she was transformed by the birth of her three children. This path ultimately led to her midwifery career. The staff of Lakeland Midwifery Care are here to provide the space for women to discover their power through birth.
Charlie Rae Young is a Florida Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. She is a mother, doula, natural birth advocate and Certified Lactation Consultant. A substandard birth experience opened Charlie’s eyes to the current crisis in America’s maternity care system. Shortly after, she began her work in the birth field with the Coalition for Improving Maternity Care Services (CIMS) as a grassroots ambassador for The Birth Survey. Charlie believes that women have an innate ability to give birth without intervention and strives to make a positive difference in the total birth experience for new mothers.
Lucie Bryant has worked as a doula in East Pasco county for 12 years and is certified as a childbirth educator, and certified as a lactation consultant. She is currently studying to be a midwife at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, class of 2016. Lucy has eight children, six of whom were born at home. Birth research after a cesarean led her to midwifery, and homebirth.
Lee Anne Roquemore is a passionate childbirth advocate, birth assistant for Lakeland Midwifery Care, and birth photographer. She is a mama of two, her first born via cesarean at a hospital and her second born at home in the water with our very own Marianne attending as her midwife. Lee Anne loves all of the wonder of the journey of motherhood and cherishes the opportunity to support moms as they prepare for and welcome their new arrivals.
Jessica Kish is a RN and also one of our own homebirth moms. She teaches CPR and is seen on prenatal day in clinic and at births assisting Marianne.
